Shantha Thangiah | Board Member
Shantha Thangiah works in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the private sector, in the high tech semiconductor industry. He earned his Master's degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York. Shantha lived on Midway Atoll NWR for 11 years, from 1991 to 2002, under private contractors ITT/BSI, PMC, and MPC. While he was on the island, he worked at the airport, public works, accounting, communications, and he also managed the island's recreation programs and facilities. He was the Chairman of the MWR/Recreation Committee. Shantha's volunteer work involves a wide range of activities including as a NASA’s Solar System Ambassador, as Chapter President of the United Nations Association of the United State of America, and as a New York State Notary Public. Shantha is committed to promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals to make the world a better place.
