A generous matching gift challenge is now underway! This holiday season, every donation made to Friends of Midway Atoll between now and December 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar—up to $10,000—by our generous Board Member, Helen.
Helen states, “My family and I have always been so proud of my father's service in the US Navy during World War II and the time he was stationed on Midway Atoll. We are delighted to honor his memory by helping the Friends of Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge to protect the spectacular bird life and fragile ecology of this remarkable place. We are grateful for their ongoing dedication to preserving the historic and cultural resources there for future generations to have and to value. It gives us a special kind of joy to carry on my father's commitment to the Midway legacy.” Read more about Helen's background here.
A Season of Stewardship—and a Rare Opportunity to Double Your Impact

Over the next several weeks, we’ll highlight individual projects among those that your generosity sustains. Here are some examples of what this special match will help fund:
- The Kuaihelani (Midway Atoll) live cam
- Annual albatross count
- Supporting Midway’s recurring 6-month volunteers
Now’s the Time: Your Gift Will Be Matched Dollar-for-Dollar

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to give—there is no better time than now. Your contribution between today and December 31st will go twice as far in safeguarding Midway Atoll’s wildlife and supporting the people who work tirelessly to protect it.
Mahalo (thank you) for helping us strengthen the scientific, educational, and conservation work at Kuaihelani (Midway Atoll). Together—and with this special matching opportunity—we continue to secure the future for seabirds and ecosystems that make this magical place irreplaceable.
