It’s almost time for the Hawaiʻi Island Festival of Birds, an annual celebration of Hawaiʻi’s native birds, biodiversity, and the conservation efforts helping protect them.

As in previous years, Friends of Midway Atoll (FOMA) will be there with a booth staffed by our board members and staff. For last year, it was estimated around 800 visitors attended! Stop by, say hello, and learn more about our work to conserve and protect Kuaihelani (Midway Atoll)!

Accommodations
The Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo, the official exclusive hotel partner of the Hawaiʻi Island Festival of Birds, has graciously offered a limited number of rooms at a discounted rate for festival attendees.
Festival attendees can receive 25% off the best available rate at the time of booking, along with:
- A waived resort fee
- Complimentary self-parking
- The option to add valet parking for $39 plus tax per vehicle, per day
The discounted rate is valid for stays from Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25, 2026.
